đWorried? Hereâs Why You Shouldnât Be
Hey Awesome Friend!
Let's dive in!
25 âTherefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 âAnd why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe youâyou of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, âWhat shall we eat?â or âWhat shall we drink?â or âWhat shall we wear?â 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Insights:
Jesus is dropping some major wisdom here: life is about more than just food and clothes.
He points to the birds and flowers as proof of God's provision. If God takes care of them, won't He take care of us too? đ
Worrying doesnât add a single hour to our lives, but seeking Godâs kingdom brings everything we need.
Reflection:
Imagine youâre in the worldâs longest checkout line, anxiously watching the clock. Thatâs what worrying is likeâcompletely unproductive.
Jesus reminds us that Godâs got our backs. If Heâs feeding birds and dressing flowers, Heâs definitely looking out for us. So why stress?
Itâs about prioritizing Godâs kingdom and letting Him handle the details.
Challenge:
Today, ditch the worry. đ«Ą
Seriously, give it the boot. Focus instead on Godâs kingdom.
Whether itâs a tough project at work, a family issue, or financial stress, trust that God will provide. Just like He does for the birds and flowers, Heâll take care of you.
Application:
Trust in Provision: When anxiety hits, remind yourself that God cares for you more than the birds and flowers.
Seek His Kingdom: Make a conscious effort to prioritize Godâs work and righteousness in your daily life.
Live in the Present: Focus on todayâs tasks and trust God with tomorrowâs worries.
Reflection Questions:
What areas of your life do you find yourself worrying about the most?
How can you actively seek God's kingdom in your daily routine?
How does recognizing God's provision for nature help you trust Him more?
Feel free to discuss with a friend.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to trust in Your provision and care. Teach me to seek Your kingdom first and to let go of my worries. May my life reflect a deep faith in Your promises and Your love. Amen.
Remember, Godâs provision is perfect. If He cares for the birds and flowers, Heâll definitely care for you. Seek His kingdom first, and let Him handle the rest.
